Every year, OSHA publishes the 10 most frequently cited workplace safety standards, to help acknowledge persistent trends and identify solutions and proper PPE for employers to help keep workers safe.
For the 14th year in a row, Fall Protection topped the list.
Respiratory Protection also jumped to 4th on the list, after being at number 7 last year.
The Top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety standards for FY 2024 are:
- Fall Protection – General Requirements (1926.501): 6,307 violations
- Hazard Communication (1910.1200): 2,888
- Ladders (1926.1053): 2,573
- Respiratory Protection (1910.134): 2,470
- Lockout/Tagout (1910.147): 2,443
- Powered Industrial Trucks (1910.178): 2,248
- Fall Protection – Training Requirements (1926.503): 2,050
- Scaffolding (1926.451): 1,873
- Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment – Eye and Face Protection (1926.102): 1,814
- Machine Guarding (1910.212): 1,541
