MSA has helped protect our customers for over 100 years in all facets of personal protective equipment and services. With this in mind, we recognize that education and training play an integral part as well. Without proper training an employee may not use or inspect the equipment properly resulting in an accident or possible fatality.
With this mission in mind, MSA developed its world-class SCBA C.A.R.E. Training program for all dealers and end-users of our line of SCBAs. C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Certified Airmask Repair Education. The Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) maintenance courses are specially designed and developed to address the Air Mask repair and maintenance requirements of our Channel Partners and end-users, alike. MSA offers its entire training catalog of C.A.R.E. classes not only at each of our Training Centers located in Pittsburgh, Houston, Los Angeles, Edmonton and Toronto, but on-site at distributor and end user locations as well.
C.A.R.E. classes should only be attended by those individuals who are, or will be, assigned to maintain and repair MSA Air Masks on a frequent basis and have the mechanical aptitude, experience, and skill-set to perform the work.
Successful completion of the class certifies an organization as an MSA Authorized Air Mask Maintenance Center, enabling C.A.R.E. Certified Repair Persons to perform the highest level of SCBA maintenance and repair on MSA Air Masks.
MSA offers a wide variety of C.A.R.E. classes, from a basic 4 hour Competent User-level training to help provide a general understanding of the theory of operation of SCBA and general maintenance requirements and cleaning procedures; to a more robust 3.5 Day Comprehensive Training program designed for technicians who are required to perform overhauls, adjustments, Flow testing and trouble-shooting on current and prior design models of both Fire Service and Industrial SCBA and SAR’s.
